The Manufacturing NextMaterials project aims to support about 120 SMEs in tackling scale-up issues. This is partly done by workshops and trainings around various themes in order to overcome scale-up challenges.&nbsp; For example workshops on methods and practical approaches to establishing, running, and evaluating test production layouts. In order to overcome the lack of competences for planning test production, devising an economical production layout, modifying existing equipment, or setting up new production layouts. But also workshops to ensure that the level of knowledge about the legal and industrial standards is ensured.&nbsp; Components and products made of smart and/or advanced materials must comply with legal and industrial standards in the areas of safety, health and environmental impact. These rules differ from country to country and SMEs have limited expertise on the regulations of the neighbouring country.&nbsp;
